De-escalation Techniques
Course Overview:
Our de-escalation course has been very successful in helping staff to defuse potentially aggressive situations where clients have show aggression. This behaviour may include invasion of personal space, making verbal threats to cause harm or perhaps just being totally confused and angry towards staff in an unprovoked incident.
Course Objectives:
By the end of the course staff will be able to:
- Identify the clients aggressive behaviour and staff responses
- Acknowledge the importance of the 3 personal safety zones
- Apply techniques to defuse an aggressive person
- Demonstrate personal safety techniques
