Fire Marshal
Course Overview:
This course will encompass the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997 (Amendment) Regulations 1999 and provide basic knowledge and understanding of fire, fire evacuation and fire-fighting. This course has been designed using the Regulatory reform order 2005 highlighting the need for the responsible person to have assistance to work in conjunction with the fire action plan and Fire risk assessment and outlines the fire marshals roles and responsibilities.
Course Objectives:
By the end of the course staff will be able to:
- Acknowledge the cost of fire in the workplace
- Understand the causes of fire in the workplace and preventative measures
- Acknowledge the classifications of fire and the types of fire extinguishers
- Demonstrate the use of fire extinguishers
- Acknowledge their roles and responsibility as a fire Marshal
- State the emergency fire evacuation procedures, taking into account the work activity involved
