Food Hygiene
Course Overview:
This course is designed to give staff an appreciation of the fundamentals of good food hygiene practice. Staff will be given the information they need to operate effectively, hygienically and safely, meeting the legal requirements of the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006 and the Food Safety Act 1990.
Course Objectives:
By the end of the course staff will be able to:-
- Understand how legislation relate to the safety of food
- Identify the symptoms and main causes of food poisoning
- Understand the characteristics of bacteria
- Describe methods to prevent food poisoning
- Explain the importance of personal hygiene for food handlers
- Outline the need and methods of achieving high standards of cleanliness in food premises
