Course Overview
The course is designed to equip staff with the knowledge and skills to be able to carry out manual handling safely and without risk of injuring themselves or others whilst raising awareness of manual handling regulations. The course content meets guidance produced by the Health and Safety Execute (HSE) including 'practical work to allow the trainer to identify and put right anything the trainee is not doing safely'.
Course Objectives:
By the end of the course staff will have:-
Knowledge of the current legal requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Manual Handling Operations Regulations
An understanding of the prinniples of human anatomy and physiology
Demonstrated safe and effective use of moving and handling techniques
